Polye promises to consider the National Council of Women as major development partner

OPPOSITION Leader Don Polye has commended the newly-elected executives of the National Council of Women for a successful election.

Congratulating the re-elected president Theresa Jaintong and her executives, Mr Polye said they would continue to advocate for issues affecting the women folk in the country.

"If our THE party is given the mandate to form the next government, I, as the Prime Minister, will make the council become one of our major partners in development.

"We are confident of winning more female MPs this election. Our party recorded a victory of two seats in the last election," he said.

He said his party had fielded more seven female candidates this election.
Polye, a champion of gender equality and participation, said he only had one female MP- Lae MP Loujaya Kouza.

He stated Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso and Sohe MP Delilah Gore defected THE party and joined PNC party.
