Preliminary counting of ballot boxes delayed in Enga

As it looms, polling in Enga may not go ahead as scheduled on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 due to grievances being raised by majority of Open and Regional Candidates in Enga.

Preliminary count in Enga has been disrupted in Enga's capital Wabag, following unfavorable responses to demands presented to the Election Manager Anton Yamau in a petition signed by majority of candidates, except those loyal to the PNC-led government.

The mock counting should have commenced last Friday in Wabag town. Simultaneously, they have staged a protest march which was led by the Opposition Leader and incumbent Kandep MP Hon. Don Pomb Polye.

The manager must not hold Enga people in ransom as he is only running the people's election in a bid to elect their good leaders.
