PNG National Doctors Association demanding police brutality be dealt with and actions taken on rogus cops

THE National Doctors Association is giving the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary one week to find policemen responsible for the beating of Port Moresby General Hospital residency trainee Dr. Newman Berry to be charged and removed from the police force.

If nothing is done, the NCD-based doctors will go on strike and will only respond to emergency cases.

The NDA says rogue officers are tarnishing the reputation of the RPNGC and they need to be removed from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.

Dr. Berry was severely beaten by Policemen in Port Moresby after dropping his sister at Tokarara last week Wednesday. He said he wasn't drunk but was accused of dropping off criminals. He says the police men were drunk at the time.
