Chinese President to visit PNG ahead of APEC 2018


PEOPLE’s Republic of China President Xi Jinping will make history when visiting Papua New Guinea ahead of APEC 2018.  

An advance team including Chinese media is already in Papua New Guinea getting the way ready for the President’s visit to attend the APEC in Port Moresby and visit other locations in the country. Chinese President Xi Jinping will be the first APEC leader to land in Port Moresby ahead of his fellow APEC leaders for the 2018 APEC meeting.

President Xi Jinping said PNG is an influential Pacific Island country and China-PNG relations made historical progress since their establishment 42 years ago. Mr. Jinping will officially open the Butuka Academy and Independence Boulevard project in Port Moresby.

Meanwhile, PNG media reported the United States of America (US) President Donald Trump has declined to attend the APEC 2018 in Port Moresby. PNG Government officials indicate his Vice-President may attend on behalf of the US Government. - Via Garamut News.
