• Technology is continuously shaping the way we live, learn and work.

• That is especially true for PNG. Who can remember what life was like without mobile phones, wireless printers and of course the internet? And technology is continuously advancing, at rapid speed. A future impacted by all the advancements taking place, is one that we cannot fully envision – but we know we must embrace or be left behind.

• Today, Artificial Intelligence, or AIs as they are commonly known as, are no longer a fiction of the imagination. They are now in our foreseeable future, and will become a major feature of our social and economic life.

• Blockchain, like AI, is also cutting edge technology, and there is a growing thought within the world of science, to integrate both Blockchain and AI technology because as one, their uses and applications are powerful and unlimited.

• Blockchain Technology has the potential to help Papua New Guinea (pacific island nations) leapfrog more-developed economies.

• Even though blockchain technology continues to make strides in developed countries, there is a widely accepted view that the biggest impacts will be the emerging economics and the Pacific Island nations

• These developing nations that are relatively and similarly poor in social and economic measure, have the potential to progress but do not have adequate access to present day technology, primarily due to lack of infrastructure

• Today we have the opportunity to address these challenges plaguing the developing nations with the help of the modern day marvel – blockchain technology.
• these nations need transparency, security, and accountability in their processes, all of which are cornerstones of this blockchain technology.

• Responsible leadership is dependent on the appreciation that technology as a tool, can create many benefits for the people.

• Effective leadership requires for us to embrace technology, which is inclusive, innovative and creates opportunities for employment, wealth and quality of life and living standards.

• Technology has assisted emerging economies to leapfrog the steps and today, blockchain will assist the Pacific Island Nations to skip the queues.

• In a world where AIs are becoming a reality, Blockchain is the technology that will take our City and country into the future.

• I have a vision for Port Moresby to become the blockchain hub of the Pacific and the region, and I believe that the first step in this journey is through Blockchain Pasifik event which will provide the necessary platform for dialogue, information sharing and awareness, from which we can develop a road map for the future.

• I encourage one and all to attend the Blockchain Pasifik in October and participate in the blockchain conversation.
