PANGU will take a measure to ban round log exports and allow downstream onshore - says Basil

by SAM BASIL, MP

SOME POLITICAL PARTIES THAT TRICKED Papua New Guineans THAT THEY WILL BAN THE EXPORT OF ROUND LOGS ARE:

1) NATIONAL ALLIANCE PARTY (NA) AFTER THE 2007 National Elections now lead by Hon. Patrick Pruaitch.

2) PEOPLE'S NATIONAL CONGRESS (PNC) AFTER THE 2012 National Elections now lead by Hon. Peter O'Neill.

THE MINISTRY OF FOREST AND THE LOGGING INDUSTRY REMAINS THE MOST CORRUPT ENTITIES SO FAR. Nothing has been done when NA and PNC were in power.

Pangu Pati under my leadership will ban the export of round logs to fulfil our downstream revolution policy.

Logging licenses will only be granted to logging companies that are ready and willing to invest into downstream processing facilities in Papua New Guinea.

We can no longer accept the export of our natural resources such as round logs to other countries creating jobs and other business spinoffs activities boosting their economies.

Pangu wants to create more jobs by making sure that most of our natural resources are processed onshore while exporting only value added products such as plywood, Furnitures, Masonites, sawn timbers to name a few..

Pangu Pati says no more export of round logs out of Papua New Guinea.
