Tambul-Nebilyer students waiting for Poponawa to assist travel home

Tambul-Nebilyer students attending the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) are still waiting for their local MP Hon. Benjamin Poponawa to assist them with airline tickets to travel home.

The Tambul-Nebilyer Students Associations at UPNG, an affiliated student body to the UPNG Students' Representative Council (UPNG SRC) and a sub-association to the Western Highlands Students Union at UPNG have waited for almost a month now after they have requested their local MP and Minister for Labour and Industrial Hon. Benjamin Poponawa to assist with airline tickets just like the rest of the students being assisted by their respective MPs.

The students have been living in Port Moresby outside of campus for a very long time now with friends and relatives and they needed repatriation as soon as possible.

The current registered students have already submitted their names to the Minister’s office and are now patiently waiting for the tickets to be purchased and distributed.
A source who wish to remain anonymous have confirmed the tickets were purchased and should be ready by tomorrow (27/07/2016) for distribution. Students are expected to leave Port Moresby for Mt. Hagen by this Friday or during the weekend.
